4 Years at IITK
4 years in IITK - the mother of all experiences.
If there is anything which is not present here, it does not exist. You meet the wierdest, smartest, craziest people who range from mind blowingly awesome to inexplicably underperorming. As far as the emotions you will feel high, low, exhausted, exhilirated, stunned - the full range of emotion.
This is a place you can do almost anything and get away with it. An emodiment of the phrase "You win some, You some some". This is the greatest place ever to be created, coming here was better than my wildest dreams. The amount I have learned from my peers here is amazing. People are simply too helpful.
It has been amazing to play tennis & baskey in the night at 2am after working my socks off.
I have been lucky to captain the most amazing set of people - my swimming team-mates. Met & learnt a lot from a fantastically diverse wing, and an extremely good natured room mate. Met people who can read at 700wpm, who solve 3rd roots of pi for enjoyments, read & understand research papers for fun, etc. It is unlikely that I can ever meet so many people at the same time, live a life with abs no compulsions(attendance is not compulsory in CS but in most cases if you don't go to class, you get busted).
In my first meeting with my Student Guide - he told me that this is the golden age of my life - don't mess it up. He was right - these last 4 years have been to good to be true. I am just happy that I got to wear the Institute colours in water polo & do well in it(we came 2nd in water polo in Roorkee). I can't think of any other place where I would have learnt as much about stocks as I did - due to the electives options in CSE.
